The Indian Panorama honors 4 at anniversary gala

The event was attended by Ruchira Kamboj who hailed the Indian American diaspora as the greatest in the world

The Indian Panorama celebrated its 18th year of publication by hosting a Gratitude Gala in Hicksville New York. The event also coincided with the publication’s founding editor, Indrajit Singh Saluja’s, 80th birthday.

India’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations Amb. Ruchira Kamboj attended the event as chief guest. In her speech, she commended the The Indian Panorama for being a platform that connects the diaspora to its roots. She also called the Indian American diaspora the best in the world.

Amb. Kamboj presented awards to four honorees—Dr. V.K. Raju (Life Achievement Honor), Ranju Batra (Excellence in Promotion of Diplomacy Award), Harry Singh Bolla (Excellence in Entrepreneurship Award) and Purnima Desai (Excellence in Culture Award). The honorees were presented with a citation scroll, a shawl, and a model of the Golden Temple. 

The event also saw the launch of Blitz India’s US edition in the presence of Blitz India chairman and editor-in-chief Deepak Dwivedi and CEO Sandeep Saxena. Journalists Beyond Borders (JBB), a fraternity organization founded by Prof Saluja in 2022, to protect and promote human rights, human values, and world peace was also formally launched at the event. 

Prof. Saluja also promoted Parveen Chopra’s wellness and spirituality web magazine. ALotusInTheMud.com, which was celebrating its first anniversary.
Congressman-elect Tom Suozzi attended the event to thank the Indian community for their support. Other guests included Padma Shri Dr Sudhir Parikh, publisher of Parikh Media Worldwide, and Dilip Chauhan who represented NYC Mayor Eric Adams.

Prominent Community organizations were represented: Gobind Munjal and Dr Jagdish Gupta from AIA, Dr Avinash Gupta, Srujal Parikh, and Alok Kumar from FIA-Tristate, and Thomas Abraham from GOPIO. IOC-USA was represented by George Abraham.

Veteran Sikh community leader Master Mohinder Singh, a former president of Gurdwara Sikh Cultural Society, Richmond Hill, and a founder President of Gurdwara Baba Makhan Shah Sikh Center was also in attendance with Gurmej Singh, a former president of Gurdwara Baba Makhan Shah Lobana.
