Indian-American Vanita Gupta, the former US Associate Attorney General, noted the increasing presence of South Asians in the federal government in the US. Speaking at the ‘Desis Decide’ summit hosted by the Indian American Impact organization, Gupta highlighted the contribution of Indian-Americans in the US.

“I think there are South Asians all over the federal government. We're running organizations all over the country. We're making films and changing culture. It's very powerful in a lot of ways, but it's also something that we have to consistently work on to make sure that we are putting our money where our mouths are,” she said at the summit.
