TiE names Amit Gupta as global board chair

TiE started in Silicon Valley in 1992 with the objective of assisting entrepreneurs.

The Indus Entrepreneurs (TiE) Global has appointed Amit Gupta as the chairman of the board of trustees for 2024. They also named Murali Bukkapatanam as the vice chairman.

Based in Singapore, Gupta is an experienced entrepreneur, advisor, and impact investor. He serves as the group CEO and founder of Ecosystm Group, overseeing its service brands, including Ecosystm Research and Ecosystm Consulting.

Gupta is also an active angel investor and serves on the boards of various digital start-ups. Additionally, he is co-chair of the MIIM Blended Finance Fund (Massive Inclusive Impact for MSMEs Fund), with a particular emphasis on supporting women entrepreneurs, and MSMEs, and promoting sustainability in Indonesia and India.

“It is an honor to serve as the global chair of TiE. My fellow Trustees and I will focus on collaborative leadership across all chapters anchoring on collective impact towards fostering entrepreneurship, nurturing innovation, and catalyzing positive change,” Gupta said.

Originally from Hyderabad, India, Bukkapatnam is an entrepreneur and seasoned leader serving as the founder and CEO of Volksy Technologies. He has also launched multiple ventures under Volksy Technologies. Bukkapatnam has played pivotal roles in TiE, holding positions such as president of the Hyderabad Chapter, vice-chairman of TiE Global, and chairman of the Chapter Development Committee. He holds an MS in Computer Science from Southeastern University, Washington DC. 

“Throughout my tenure, I've been dedicated to elevating TiE's global presence and unifying our network, as seen in the successful launch of the TiE Global Summit and our Chapter Development initiatives. My commitment is to continue fostering collaborative governance and strategic insight, ensuring TiE's mission for global entrepreneurial success resonates in every action we take,” Bukkapatnam said.

“With over two decades of entrepreneurial leadership, I am eager to bring my experience and passion to this new role, championing the unique value of our community and nurturing the next generation of business leaders,” he added.

TiE, a Silicon-Valley based non-profit organization, was established in 1992 with the primary objective of assisting entrepreneurs of Indian descent.
