Virginia-based Trex, a manufacturer of wood-alternative decking, railing, and other outdoor products made from recycled materials, has appointed Indian-American digital transformation executive Anand Kangala as vice president and chief information officer (CIO), effective immediately.
As a member of Trex’s leadership team, Kangala will oversee global IT functions and drive the company’s enterprise technology strategy, the firm said in a statement.
Kangala brings extensive experience in digital transformation and technology strategy to Trex. Previously, he served as senior director at Home Depot, where he spearheaded the launch of a transformation management office and led the digital strategy for interconnected retail. Brenda Lovcik, senior vice president and chief financial officer at Trex, expressed enthusiasm about the appointment, stating, “Anand is inheriting a dynamic team that will benefit from his experience as they execute on the digital enhancements that will fuel our growth for years to come.”
Sharing excitement for his new role, Kangala said, “I'm thrilled to join a company I admire for its circularity and sustainability vision to enhance people's lives. I look forward to partnering with an executive team with deep industry and innovation experience and contributing to the company's mission and growth.”
Kangala has a bachelors and masters in accounts and finance from the University of Madras, India, MBA from East Carolina University, and a doctorate in Business Administration from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte.
