The United States government, the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA), and Indian American Congressmen, organizations, and prominent individuals congratulated ISRO and India on the historic landing of Chandrayaan-3 at the south pole of the lunar surface.
In a unique gesture, the US government congratulated ISRO in Hindi for Chandrayaan-3's historic lunar landing. A spokesperson of the US State Department, Margaret MacLeod said in Hindi, “India ke logo ko Chandrayaan 3 ke Vikram Lander ka Chand ki satha par kamyabi se utrane par dil se bandhai.”
Congratulating ISRO and India, White House National Security Advisor to President of the United States (POTUS) Jake Sullivan wrote on X, “Congratulations to ISRO and the people of India for the Chandrayaan-3’s historic landing on the South Pole of the Moon. We look forward to deepening our partnership with India on space exploration in the years ahead.” In a congratulatory note, NASA Administrator Bill Nelson praised, “Congratulations to India on being the 4th country to successfully soft-land a spacecraft on the Moon.”
Congressmen Ro Khanna and Raja Krishnamoorthi conveyed their wishes on the occasion. Khanna remarked, “A big moment for India. Mike Waltz and I saw incredible ingenuity and dynamism across India in our recently led delegation.” Recently, Khanna and Waltz led a US lawmaker delegation to India to participate in the 77th Independence Day in New Delhi. Krishnamoorthi said, “A historic accomplishment for India, and a major step in lunar discovery for the world.”
First deputy managing director of the IMF Gita Gopinath, US President’s AANHPI Commission member Ajay Jain Bhutoria also congratulated ISRO and India. Jain said, “A major step for India, showcasing pioneering tech and efficiency in space exploration.”
Indian American organizations Hindu American Foundation, Foundation for India and Indian Diaspora Studies (FIIDS) USA extended their greetings to India on becoming the first country to land on the South Pole of the moon.
