White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre emphasized President Joe Biden's ongoing commitment to strengthening the partnership between the United States and India during the daily news conference on Aug.12.

While addressing the administration's priorities for the remaining six months, Jean-Pierre underscored the significance of this relationship.

"We look forward to continuing to expand our critical and critically important partnership and how it's going to benefit the American people," Jean-Pierre stated.

She further emphasized the administration's focus on creating a more prosperous and secure Indo-Pacific and global environment, stating, "That is going to continue to be our focus as we move forward."

Jean-Pierre highlighted the president's perspective on the US-India relationship, calling it "one of the most consequential in the world." She added, "We work closely with India on our most vital priorities, including through the Quad and the US-India initiative on Critical and Emerging Technology."

Earlier in the day, Vinay Mohan Kwatra, India's Ambassador-designate to the US, arrived in Washington, D.C. Kwatra, who previously served as Minister of Commerce at the Indian Embassy, is expected to present his credentials to President Biden soon. His arrival coincides with an intense presidential election campaign, developments in Bangladesh, and ongoing US involvement in two international conflicts.

In the coming months, high-level diplomatic engagements between India and the US are anticipated, including visits by cabinet-level officials from both nations. The overall US-India relationship has seen significant growth, particularly following Prime Minister Narendra Modi's state visit to Washington last June and President Biden's participation in the G20 summit in India last September.
