The US-India Business Council (USIBC) has appointed Inderpreet Sawhney and Lakshmanan Chidambaram to its global board of directors.
Sawhney is the group general counsel and the chief compliance officer of Infosys where she leads the legal and compliance function for the company. She also has additional responsibility for privacy and data protection at the company.
With 25 years of experience, Sawhney has served as general counsel of a large IT services firm, and as managing partner of a law firm in Silicon Valley. She is a member of the board of directors of NYSE listed Hillenbrand as well as a member of the National Advisory Council of SABANA (South Asian Bar Association of North America).
Sawhney was an honoree at the 2017 transformative leadership awards, recognizing general counsel who demonstrate commitment to advancing women in law and also a recipient of the thought leadership award at the 2018 global transformative leadership awards.
Additionally, she was featured among the top 25 women leaders in IT Services of 2020, published by the IT services report.

Lakshmanan Chidambaram serves as president of Tech Mahindra– Americas Strategic Verticals. He has been overseeing strategy, innovation, and expansion of the organisation’s multibillion-dollar footprint across industries in the region since 2016.
In his role, Chidambaram is responsible for a diverse range of industries, including banking and financial services, insurance, manufacturing, retail and consumer packaged goods, travel and transportation, healthcare and life sciences, energy and utilities, and the public sector.
He has over three decades of experience at the intersection of information technology, business processes, core engineering and networks. Moreover, he has partnered with customers, employing innovative business models, and leveraging emerging technologies to create transformational outcomes in a rapidly evolving technology landscape.

Established in 1975 at the behest of the U.S. and Indian Governments, USIBC represents hundreds of top global companies operating across the United States, India, and the Indo-Pacific.
