The U.S.-India Business Council (USIBC) concluded a high-profile delegation to the 3rd India Energy Week, emphasizing its role as the second-largest global energy event and a key platform for advancing India-U.S. energy trade and investment.

The delegation, one of the largest U.S. industry representatives at the event, hosted a roundtable with India’s Minister of Petroleum and Natural Gas, Hardeep Singh Puri, to discuss energy security, diversification, artificial intelligence in energy, sustainable fuels, and cleantech manufacturing.

USIBC also held talks with Tarun Kapoor, an advisor in the Prime Minister’s Office, on India’s global energy security strategy.

“USIBC’s mission to promote energy innovation and collaboration between the U.S. and India was clearly evident throughout the event,” said Rahul Sharma, USIBC managing director. “The outcomes of these discussions reinforce our commitment to driving sustainable solutions for a cleaner and more secure energy future.”

Delegation lead Venkat Kannan, president for gas power solutions at GE Vernova-Asia, highlighted India’s growing energy needs amid artificial intelligence expansion and aging infrastructure. “If our industry can maximize the existing installed base while investing in new capacity, we will meet demand requirements,  deliver reductions in carbon intensity, and innovate the new technologies required for the future,” Kannan said.

In partnership with the Molecule Group, Indian Federation of Green Energy, and Indian Biogas Association, USIBC also hosted India’s first Sustainable Fuels, Chemicals, and Materials Workshop, focusing on technology R&D, supply chains, and infrastructure.

USIBC congratulated the Indian government on the event’s success and reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening bilateral energy collaboration.
