The US-India Business Council (USIBC) and the Karnataka Innovation and Technology Society (KITS) have signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) to expand collaboration in key industry sectors with emphasis on information technology, biotechnology and electronics.
The agreement was signed during the India-USA Tech Conclave, hosted by USIBC at the Bengaluru Tech Summit (BTS). State minister for Information Technology and Biotechnology, Rural Development and Panchayat Raj, Priyank Kharge, signed on behalf of Karnataka.

Kharge, who participated in the conclave, highlighted the MoU's focus on strengthening ties between Karnataka and USIBC, addressing mutual challenges, fostering industry collaboration, and positioning the state as a preferred investment hub for US firms.
Commenting on the bond between the State and the USIBC, Kharge added that the formalized association marks a significant step forward in strengthening the economic ties. It emphasizes the deepening engagement between Karnataka Government & USIBC to identify and address the common challenges, facilitate collaboration, he said.
USIBC deputy managing director and head of strategic initiatives, Shreerupa Mitra, mentioned that Bengaluru will be a key area for industry collaboration between the United States and India in the coming years.
The third edition of the India-USA Tech Conclave brought industry leaders and government officials to explore opportunities for increased collaboration, investment and to address policy and regulatory issues that deepen synergies between the Indian and American innovation and creativity ecosystems.
The sessions at the conclave covered topics such as "linking entrepreneurs & startups for long-term relationships", "shaping the commercial space frontier", "women leaders in healthcare", "innovative technologies defining the future of healthcare", and "e-commerce, supply chain and logistics."
