USISPF roundtable discusses importance of SMEs
Member companies of the USISPF actively took part in the roundtable discussion.

The US-India Strategic Partnership Forum (USISPF) recently organized a roundtable discussion with Ambassador Katherine Tai, US Trade Representative (USTR), in New Delhi to underscore and emphasize the significance of small and medium-sized enterprise companies (SMEs) in the US and India.
Discussions between the officials centered around the vital role played by SMEs in nurturing economic relations between the two countries. USISPF member companies, such as Amazon, Hair Originals, YogaDesk, Coca-Cola, Food & Inns, Meta, Gifts of Love, Deyor Experiences, Amway, T-Second, WinzO Games, and Educational Testing Services (ETS), along with their SME partners, actively participated in the discussion.
During the session, companies emphasized the significance of their collaboration with USISPF's large multinational corporations (MNCs) and highlighted the mutual benefits for the domestic market and exports to the US and other regions.
Ambassador Tai provided valuable insights into the requirements of collaborating with SMEs, including startups, and the obstacles associated with entering into new markets and participating in global trade, a release stated.
Dr. Mukesh Aghi, president and CEO of USISPF, in his opening remarks, emphasized the forum's dedication to Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) and startups. He shed light on the 'Startup Connect' program in the Bay Area, which has proven beneficial for numerous Indian entrepreneurs in that region. The initiative aims to foster meaningful connections between startups, primarily led by Indian entrepreneurs and potential clients, mentors, and funders in the US.
“We are pleased to witness the meaningful discussions and collaboration at the US-India Trade Policy Forum SME Roundtable. The insights shared by Ambassador Katherine Tai and the distinguished participants underscore the importance of SMEs in strengthening economic ties between our nations. USISPF remains committed to fostering collaborative dialogues that drive growth and innovation in the SME sector,” Aghi said.
Acknowledging that SMEs and startups are pivotal to current global job creation, the USISPF further revealed plans to introduce an SME initiative in the upcoming months to establish a platform for SMEs in both India and the US to facilitate accelerated integration into the ecosystem of multinational companies.
