The University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point has named Pratima Gandhi as interim chancellor , effective July 14. She will succeed Chancellor Thomas Gibson, who has been appointed chancellor of UW-Milwaukee.

Gandhi, currently the vice chancellor for finance and administration at UW-Stevens Point, has played a key role in the university’s financial management since joining in 2020. She oversees facility services, financial operations, budget and planning, human resources, capital planning and budget, risk management, sustainability, parking services, and police and security services. She is also a member of Chancellor Gibson’s leadership team.
“UW-Stevens Point has made significant progress in recent years through financial stability, enrollment growth, and community partnerships,” Gandhi said. “I look forward to continuing that momentum.”
“Pratima Gandhi has a successful record of managing the university’s finances since her appointment in 2020, including a significant role in leading it to financial stability,” Universities of Wisconsin president Jay Rothman said. “She has the knowledge and relationships to keep UW-Stevens Point on track.”

Before joining UW-Stevens Point, Gandhi was chief financial officer and treasurer at Bradley University in Peoria, Illinois, where she worked for nearly three decades. She also served as an auditor at Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University in Blacksburg, Virginia.
Gandhi holds a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Indiana University in Fort Wayne, Indiana. Her husband, Nimish, is an alumnus of the UW-Stevens Point Sentry School of Business and Economics.
