Vibha honors educators transforming foundational learning

The event, held as part of LLF’s Neev program, recognized 25 teachers and 50 Community Academic Coordinators (CACs) for their work with early learners.

A moment of pride: All award-winning teachers with the teams from Vibha, LLF and government officials, Durg / Vibha Inc.

A US- and India-based non-profit, Vibha honored teachers and community educators in Durg, Chhattisgarh, for their contributions to strengthening foundational literacy and numeracy.

The Teacher Recognition Award Ceremony hosted in collaboration with the Language and Learning Foundation (LLF) and local government leaders, was held as part of the "Vibha Guiding Lights" initiative, which spotlights teachers who are transforming foundational literacy and numeracy (FLN) in the district.

The event, held as part of LLF’s Neev program, recognized 25 teachers and 50 community academic coordinators (CACs) for their work with early learners. The selection process was conducted under the guidance of government officials to ensure transparency and credibility. 

Senior officials including J.P. Rath, additional director of the State Council of Educational Research and Training (SCERT), and district authorities attended the ceremony, reflecting strong government support.

Surendra Pandey, district mission coordinator, Samagra Shiksha, Durg, emphasized the significance of the initiative, stating, “This award allows teachers to showcase their outstanding work. A strong evaluation team was formed to assess these contributions, and after a thorough screening process, we have selected 50 teachers and some cluster coordinators to be honored. Recognition, whether it is for children or adults, is always encouraging.”

Alok Rai, project manager at Vibha, described the ceremony as inspiring. “Seeing the happiness and a sense of achievement on the faces of the teachers was truly the most satisfying experience,” he said.

Senior representatives from Vibha, including Amit Shekhar, senior director, CSR, and Veeranarayana Tanneru, senior project manager, attended the event alongside government counterparts. Vibha’s collaboration with LLF and the government highlights its commitment to scaling proven solutions for strengthening foundational education.
