Popular Kollywood actor Vijay Sethupathi rently released the poster of his 50th project on social Media. The film is titled 'Maharaja'.
Sethupathi is depicted sitting in a salon chair while holding a sickle in his right hand. He has blood on his face and what looks like a severed ear on his left side. He is sitting against a broken setting, the bricks of which are exposed and a great deal of other debris is scattered around him. A couple of men in police uniform are seen standing at a distance.
So far, the film's creators have revealed very little about the role Sethupathi will play. Actor-director Anurag Kashyap co-stars in "Maharaja" alongside Mamta Mohandas and Abhirami.
Sethupathi recently spoke about reaching the 50th film milestone in his career, “Thank you for your praise and criticism. 50 is not expected at all. It's like a milestone. How far we have come gives us hope. Also, it adds experience. This includes patience and wisdom. Thanks to all the directors and artists who gave me good experiences,” he told reporters at a press event, as per a media report.
The Jawan actor also predicted the film to do well commercially, and that director Nithilan wrote the movie with a vision that would earn “double or triple profit for the producer.”
One of the highest-paid actors in the Tamil movie industry, Sethupati has appeared in a lot of uncredited roles in several movies before landing his first lead film ‘Thenmerku Paruvakatru’ released in 2010. He was expected to make a foray into Bollywood in the Aamir Khan starrer ‘Laal Singh Chaddha’ but it did not work out. The actor then made his Hindi-language movie debut with the Santosh Sivan directorial ‘Mumbaikar’ which was released in June 2023.
