Actress Anushka Sharma and cricketer Virat Kohli recently revealed that they were blessed with a boy. The duo added that their baby boy, who was born on February 15, would go by the name "Akaay."
Parents to their first child, Vamika, the couple took to Instagram to announce the news. “With abundant happiness and our hearts full of love, we are pleased to inform everyone that on 15th February, we welcomed our baby boy Akaay and Vamika's little brother into this world!,” their post read.
“We seek your blessings and good wishes in this beautiful time in our lives. We request you to kindly respect our privacy at this live," they added in a joint statement.
Online rumors about Sharma's second pregnancy began to circulate in November 2023, after she was photographed attending a Diwali celebration in Bengaluru just before Team India's World Cup match against the Netherlands.
While the second pregnancy was not officially disclosed by the couple, curious onlookers noticed the actor sporting a baby bump during the Diwali celebration and quickly inundated the internet with ideas and conjecture. Meanwhile, the cricketer's absence from the field due to “personal reasons” only added to the speculation.
Recently, former South Africa captain AB de Villiers disclosed about the couple's pregnancy. But, he later issued an apology to Virat Kohli and his family for the disclosure, claiming that it was fake.
