"Visa is a gift, not an entitlement," Rubio defends revoking student visas

"No one has a right to a visa. These are things that we decide," Rubio said.

Asserting that visas are a gift and should not be considered an entitlement, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio has defended the Trump Administration's decision to revoke the visas of several international visitors, particularly those of students who in the past were engaged in various campus protest activities.

“A visa is a gift.  It’s a voluntary thing.  We decide to give you a visa.  We deny visas all over the world every day for a variety of reasons, and that means we can also revoke those visas.  No one is entitled to a visa,” Rubio told reporters on board a plane while returning from the Caribbean to Miami, Florida.
