ZEE5 Global, the leading streaming platform for South Asian content, has released the trailer for its latest original series, Murshid.
The series, set to premiere exclusively on Aug.30, features a stellar cast, headlined by Kay Kay Menon, along with Zakir Hussain, Tanuj Virwani, and Rajesh Shringarpure.
Produced by Sandeep Patel and directed by Shravan Tiwari, Murshid delves deep into Mumbai's underworld, blending crime, drama, and intense action. The story revolves around Murshid Pathan (Kay Kay Menon), a retired don drawn back into the criminal world to protect his family after his son is implicated in a dangerous plot.
As Murshid navigates treacherous alliances and political conspiracies, he must confront both old enemies and new threats. The series spans multiple locations, from Mumbai's gritty streets to Dubai's skylines and Allahabad's historic alleys.
Kay Kay Menon described his role as a former don turned philanthropist as "exciting and complex," reflecting on how far a father will go to protect his family. Meanwhile, Zakir Hussain's portrayal of Farid, a volatile antagonist vying for power, adds a sharp edge to the narrative. Tanuj Virwani, playing the conflicted police inspector and Murshid’s adopted son, highlights the emotional turmoil and deep-rooted loyalties that form the core of the series.
