New India Abroad® Guidelines for Columnists

Thank you for your interest in contributing to Abroad®. We are excited to collaborate with writers who bring fresh perspectives and insights to our readers. To help streamline the submission process and ensure clarity, please adhere to the following guidelines:

1. Content Focus

We seek opinion pieces and columns that reflect current events, trends, and issues relevant to the Indian diaspora, international relations, politics, culture, and community affairs. Submissions should engage our readers and add value through well-reasoned arguments and unique viewpoints.

2. Word Count

Columns should generally be between 600 to 800 words. Please ensure that your piece is concise, well-organized, and avoids unnecessary jargon.

3. Originality

We expect original content that has not been published elsewhere. If your column references research, studies, or news, please ensure proper citations. Plagiarism or duplicate submissions will not be accepted.

4. Profile Picture

A high-resolution profile picture of the columnist is required. This will be displayed alongside the published column. The image should be clear and professional.

5. Short Video (Optional)

We encourage columnists to submit a short video (under 2 minutes) summarizing the key points of their column. This can help enhance engagement with readers.

6. Submission Format

Please submit your column as a Word document (.docx) or Google Doc.

Ensure the document includes your full name, email address, phone number, and a brief bio (around 50 words) to introduce yourself to the readers.

7. Editing Policy

Our editorial team reserves the right to edit your submission for clarity, grammar, style, and length. Major edits or changes in content will be discussed with the writer before publication.

8. Deadlines

Please submit your column at least 5 days prior to the agreed-upon publication date. This allows sufficient time for editing and feedback.

9. Copyright

Once published, New India Abroad retains the rights to your column. However, you may republish your piece elsewhere after a period of 30 days, provided it includes appropriate credit to New India Abroad.

Authors are responsible for ensuring the factual accuracy of their submissions. Opinions expressed in the columns are those of the writers and do not necessarily reflect the views of New India Abroad.
